How to get a nature design for your bathroom

More and more people seem to like the idea of having a bathroom design that manages to spotlight nature. Nature seems to be linked to the idea of cleanliness – clean and green! The nature bathroom design is focused mainly on people’s inner response when thinking about nature. Such a bathroom design is all about building everything on a particular theme that includes grass, flowers, rocks, trees and water. It may also include seashells or fish. Anything that belongs to nature is likely to be incorporated in a bathroom design that will provide you with the genuine feeling of enjoying a private spa. A relaxing atmosphere can be achieved by using nature’s designs – keep your bathroom design quiet and naturally colored!

Natural lighting is preferred in a nature bathroom design because this kind of soft lighting is relaxing. You can achieve this by working skylights into the design and letting in the natural light. If such skylights cannot be installed in your bathroom, you can use narrow and long windows, installed right in the upper parts of the bathroom walls. This will provide you with the same natural effect while making your bathroom even more airy. Keep in mind that halogen lighting is likely to be more natural than the conventional incandescent bulbs. So, you should install some dimmer switches in order to enjoy bright light for your personal grooming or more relaxing lighting for your deep tub soak.

The nature bathroom design finds its origins in the real backdrop of the natural walls. So, you should make those natural walls set the tone for your bathroom. For instance, you should use grass cloth wallpaper (a material that was treated in order to withstand all types of humid conditions) because this textured material can cover your bathroom walls in muted and natural tones of tan and green. Consider using the marble wall tiles and have them installed on the lower parts of the bathroom walls. Make sure that you choose a wide range of colors that resemble the nature’s rocks. You can also choose some warm wood wainscoting in order to decorate the lower walls and provide your bathroom design with the genuine feeling of trees.

The bathroom floor must be natural as well in order to complete the natural bathroom design. For instance, if you have already used some light colors on your walls, you should use dark flooring in order to create a natural contrast that welcomes your visitors. If you have used dark colors for your walls, you should use a light flooring. Skip the vinyl and carpeting and choose laminate wood flooring or ceramic tile in order to get a natural look for your bathroom design. If your budget allows you to spend some more money on your bathroom design , consider using natural and resistant stone flooring such as marble or travertine.

Natural tubs and showers should be used as well in order to mirror the nature design you have chosen for your bathroom. For instance, an imitation marble or marble tub would make the perfect choice. Just make sure you use the deep and warm brown shades of this material. If price isn’t a consideration for you, you might look for a stone or even natural wood tub. If you are interested to have a shower stall instead, you should choose a glass stall that has a swinging door. Natural vanity, sink and faucets are important when trying to carry a nature design into your bathroom. Bamboo is a very good choice of wood in every case.

However, your nature bathroom design will not be complete without a plant. If your bathroom has sufficient light, you can use real trailing plants that are appropriate in the humid climate of the bathroom. If your bathroom doesn’t have enough light, go for the quality silk plants that can keep their realistic look for a long period of time.
