3 shower types for a contemporary bathroom design

Without a well chosen shower, no contemporary bathroom design can be accomplished. Nowadays, bathroom showers come in a wide variety of styles and performances – from the manual cold and hot water to the automatic showers that spray in order to regulate the necessary temperature according to the user’s preference. The latest showers have evolved with various functionality. You shouldn’t add any type of shower to your bathroom design. Keep in mind that functionality is a key element when it comes to choosing the right shower for your bathroom . By making the wrong choice, you will end up with a beautifully decorated but useless shower. Here are some of the most popular types of showers in order for you to decide which of their functionality is going to fit your bathroom best.

An electric shower will be connected to the mains domestic supply and will draw all the necessary water directly from it. The water will be heated as it is used. The main advantage of this type of shower is that it is designed to heat just the water you need to use and not the whole tank. This is safer than the more traditional tank fed system and it is also less expensive. An electric shower would be your best choice if your house doesn’t have a hot stored water supply. This device is easy to install and it will provide you with continuous showering regardless of the stored hot water. However, keep in mind that an electric shower may not be able to function properly if the water pressure is too low.

The power shower is a combination of a pump with a mixing valve. These elements come in just one complete unit and help to maximize the necessary water pressure. The complete unit of the power shower will increase the water flow that comes from the shower head. The proper temperature is maintained by the thermostatic valve and this will happen even if water flows anywhere else within the home. A power shower is available both in thermostatic and manual model. It is ideal for a home that has a storage tank with cold water.

The mixer shower is the best choice when you want to spend less money. You can find such a mixer shower in various types such as: thermostat, manual, pump powered or pressure balanced types. The thermostatic mixer is among the most used types in homes due to its in-built thermostats that are designed to heat the water to a specific degree that will depend upon the current surrounding temperature. If we are interested to make a comparison, we'll conclude that a mixer shower will provide you with a higher flow rate when compared to the electric shower.  But you should also know that the power shower is likely to be more powerful than the electric and mixer shower. You may improve the functionality of the electric or mixer shower by installing an additional pump in order to increase the water flow.
